Jerry Martini

A member of both the Rock and Roll and the Blues Hall’s of Fame, Jerry Martini (aka Papa J) is the original founder of Sly & the Family Stone; calling upon Sly Stone to become the leader of the first inter-racial, multi-gender major American band. Jerry is an indelible part of music history having played Woodstock, he has also performed with such luminaries as Carlos Santana, Prince and Van Morrison, just to name a few. Along with Cynthia Robinson and Larry Graham, Jerry toured Europe and the U.S. with Prince’s ‘Jam of The Year’ tour which culminated with the Pay Per View special ‘Rave Un2 2000‘. More recently he appeared on the 2006 Grammy Awards with a cast of all stars in their tribute to Sly & The Family Stone. In addition, he is an accomplished songwriter/arranger.

A Stones Throw Live at the Chillin' and Grillin' BBQ and Auction for the Boys and Girls Club of Auburn
Come celebrate with us and enjoy an evening of great food, music & dancing and a silent and live auction, all benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of Auburn
 
This year’s event is being held at the Boys & Girls Club of Auburn, 679 Lincoln Way in downtown Auburn, on June 9, 2012, starting at 6 pm.  There will be a fantastic BBQ done by the Auburn community Cancer Endowment Fund volunteers.
 
Music will be provided by the band “A Stone’s Throw”, playing rock & roll, R&B, oldies and other great music to dance the night away to. With over 400 guests attending, the evening promises to be great fun for all.
 
All proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Auburn to support our youth development programs and activities.  This is the premier fundraising event of the year for the Club.
